Nine Evans - Data leader

Associate Professor Dr. Nina Evans is a highly accomplished Professorial Lead at UniSA, focusing her extensive experience—which includes senior academic leadership and a background as a Chemical Engineer—on Information Asset Management (IAM) and Digital Business Transformation.

Dr. Evans is deeply committed to giving back by helping leaders realize and justify the critical value of data, information, and knowledge as core business assets. She advocates that the effective management of any asset hinges on governing the underlying information. To overcome the biggest barrier to IAM—justification to executives—Dr. Evans and her collaborators developed the Holistic Information Asset Maturity Model and, more recently, launched a global research project. This new initiative, supported by the Data Leaders group, aims to measure and quantify the real business impacts of information, providing leaders with the essential evidence-based tools to build a strong business case for investment.

Furthermore, Dr. Evans is passionate about developing well-rounded graduates for the Connection Economy, ensuring they understand the “people and behavioural aspects” of technology in addition to technical skills, fostering the crucial fusion between business and IT professionals. Her impact is evidenced by over 120 publications and the successful supervision of 16 PhD students.
