Daragh O Brien is the founder and managing director of Castlebridge, one of Ireland’s leading data strategy consultancy and education providers. Daragh has spent his professional life working on the interface of technology and business in a career that goes back to the mid-1990s (when he was still an undergrad in UCD, working with a start-up software company run by some friends).
Prior to founding Castlebridge, Daragh was a programme manager in a leading Irish telco for 12 years, in roles responsible for Single View of Customer strategy, data quality change programmes, and regulatory assurance. Since 2009 Daragh has led Castlebridge in client engagements in a range of industry sectors and with clients from small start-up companies and NGOs to enterprise businesses and government departments.
Daragh is a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society, a Fellow of Information Privacy (IAPP), a syllabus consultant with the Law Society of Ireland. He also lectures in the Sutherland School of Law and the Smurfit Graduate School of Business in University College Dublin. He also sits on the Strategic Advisory Board to the School of Business in NUI Maynooth and is a lead contributor to the Innovation Value Institute in NUI Maynooth. He has been an active contributor to frameworks such as the DAMA DMBOK.
Daragh is the co-author of Ethical Data and Information Management: Concepts, Tools, and Methods among other publications.
